The winter storm advisory issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect for much of south central Indiana.
The weather is predicted to start late this afternoon with sleet and freezing rain, turning into snowfall over the evening and overnight hours.
Jason Puma, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis says that the roads could become dangerous as early as tonight.
